November 9丨National Fire Awareness Day pays tribute to Blue Friends

The number of months and days on November 9 happened to be the same as the fire alarm number 119, and around this day, when fires frequently broke out, fire prevention work was carried out all over the country. In order to increase the overall awareness of fire safety and make "119" more popular among the people, the Ministry of Public Security initiated it in 1992 and designated December 9th of each year as the national "Fire Awareness Day".

The frequent occurrence of fires cannot but arouse our great attention. Once trapped in the fire scene, if you master the correct escape method, you can guarantee your own safety to a large extent. If you run around, you will cause more damage.

//five wrong escape behaviors

1 Escape the way you came

This is a knee-jerk reaction, but it often leads to missing the best time to escape.

2 Run to the light, follow blindly

In fact, the place where the fire may be bright is the place where the fire is burning; blindly following may gather a large number of escaped people, which will lead to the blockage of the escape route.

3 escape from high to low

When a fire breaks out in a high-rise building, don't run down easily, because there may already be a sea of flames below.

4 Risky jumps and blind elevators

When a fire breaks out in a high-rise building, don't run down easily, because there may already be a sea of flames below.

// Pay attention to fire prevention//

Fire is ruthless, once a fire breaks out, keep a clear head, race against time, and leave quickly. Therefore, it is very necessary to learn some correct fire escape methods.

1. When a fire breaks out, call the police first

When calling the police, you must state the detailed address, fire location, fire material, fire size, name and telephone number of the caller, and send someone to the intersection to meet the fire truck. Warm reminder: Dial "119" fire alarm number and the public security fire brigade to dispatch the police and put out the fire are both free of charge.

Once a fire breaks out at home, don't panic. If the fire is not serious, you should quickly use the spare fire extinguishing equipment at home to take effective measures to control and extinguish the fire.

If the oil pan is on fire, water cannot be poured to extinguish the fire. The gas valve of the stove should be closed, and the lid should be directly covered or covered with a wet rag to suffocate the fire. You can also put cut vegetables into the pot to cool down and put out the fire.

If the gas tank is on fire, cover the fire with soaked bedding, clothes, etc., and quickly turn off the valve.

If a household appliance or circuit catches fire, first cut off the power supply, and then use a dry powder or gas fire extinguisher to extinguish the fire to prevent electric shock or electrical explosion.

Do not open doors and windows rashly when fighting a fire, so as to avoid air convection and accelerate the spread of the fire.

2. Quickly escape from the scene

When a fire breaks out, escape from the scene as quickly as possible. When rushing out of a room surrounded by smoke, cover your mouth and nose with a wet towel to avoid shortness of breath.

When a building is on fire, do not take an ordinary elevator to escape, because it is easy to cut off the power, or the elevator car is heated, deformed and jammed, so that the escape fails. Do not walk upright when the smoke fills the air, otherwise it is very easy to choke on the smoke and get poisoned. During the escape process, you must move forward with a low profile and keep your body below 1 meter.

When escaping from the fire scene, escape along the passage marked with "safety exit", and do not enter unknown passages casually. If the passage downstairs has been blocked by fire and cannot pass through, you should tear the sheets into strips, tie them together, hang them from the window, and escape along the strips.

3. In case of fire in high-rise buildings or hotels, special attention should be paid to:

Never use the elevator and evacuate from the fire escape stairs.

Follow the fire escape route map or evacuation signs to escape.

You must carry the key with you. Once the way is blocked, you can return to the room in time to find a better solution. When possible, when escaping, knock on the door while running to notify others to escape. If there is an alarm bell switch, press the alarm bell immediately to call the police.

Do not rush down stairs if they are blocked by smoke or fire. Fully wet the towel and quilt with water, cover your mouth with the towel, cover your body with the quilt, and crawl forward.

If you are trapped in a high place and calling for help is ineffective, you can wave sheets, towels, pillowcases, etc. in front of the window to attract the attention of others.

If the doors, windows, passages, stairs, etc. are blocked by fireworks, you should make full use of lifelines, fire descent devices, lifesaving bags, etc. to escape.
